Sold mine with 9000 miles on it in 2015 (2012 that I bought brand new) never had 1 issue. I changed the chain case every 1200 miles lubed and adjusted the track every other ride and adjusted the belt when needed. Never even changed the plugs. Ski doo recoil not catching? I come from a long run of arctic cats where I could put 5000 or 6000 miles on the motor and never think about taking the top end off. The thought of having to freshen up the motor after each season is a big turn off regardless of the manufacture.

From researching, many riders were getting 5,000 to even 9,000 miles out of their cranks. Some took the time to remove the PTO seal and grease the bearing, while others did not, and were lucky.
